Alright so I'm on a bit of a journey here. I need to get healthier. During my pregnancy I became very will and severely diabetic. I retained A LOT of fluids and since my pancreas wasn't working correctly all the glucose in my body and that i was eating couldn't be turned into usable energy for my body and got stored as fat by default. This resulted in massive weight gain! I'm talkin' i gained 100 lbs! yes i said 100lbs!
I never had weight issues, i have been very athletic and thin my whole life, so i was devastated when this happened to me. What made it worse was I ate healthy. When i got pregnant I really enforced a healthy eating diet on my self and was very strict. I ate only whole grains even if they were bland, tons of veggies, (salads galore) and truck loads of fruits and smoothies. In fact I had a smoothie every day with healthy boost powder. I never ate sweets like
Toward the end of my pregnancy was when i was finally tested for diabetes and and given insulin. After only a week of using insulin I actually finally started dropping weight by a couple of pounds each week. But it wasn't long till i had the baby anyway.
After I gave birth to my daughter, I lost the 30 + lbs that most women would normally have gained during their pregnancies very easily. Ugh If only that had been the only amount of weight i had gained I'd be finished with the weight loss journey already but alas here i am talking to you about it.
So with 50 more lbs to go here I giving a new program a shot. It's intense and only recommended for the extremely committed. I know I'm game. i love work outs that make me sweat, it feels good to be sore and have that feeling of great accomplishment. So the program I'm doing is called
By Beach Body.
Beach body is also the same company who makes the ever so famous P90X DVD training system, which I got a chance to do with my mom on my 3 1/2 week visit to see her in sunny California. And P90X was great! It helped me loose more weight while I was there visiting and felt do-able.
So why didnt I just get that program instead? Well no real reason, beachbody has great products for all desired fitness levels and so on and their products are actually worth it. I wanted to get even more hyper and crazy and sweaty so I choose but I could just as well have gotten P90X and still get the get results I had already been experiencing.
So here we go Its day one and I've done my first workout and I'm exhausted but so proud. I'm sore and I love and it and can't wait to do it again. I'm going to keep you posted on my progress and if anyone wants to join in on this journey with me I'd love to have you as a workout buddy.
You look gorgeous!! I don't believe you gained that much during pregnancy!!! Good luck with getting healthy!
And thanks for finding me on Mom Bloggers Club! It's taking me a while to learn the site, find my way around, and start visiting everyone's blog. Looking forward to following your progress!!
