Here are 5 basic Practices for Successful Business Blogging.

1. Professionally Speaking - Think of your blog as an extension of your voice. People can't hear your voice, but they are still your words on that screen and your readers are "hearing" you loud and clear. Make sure your speaking in a professional manner. Try not to use a lot of slang. Never use and swear words or any other offensive words and phrases. It's highly unprofessional. You want to display a degree of professionalism to your blog and your business.

2. It's Personal - Be personable. You don't need to tell all about your family life but Its great to tell funny or interesting stories to entertain your audience. This helps them get you really know you and adds that personal touch. Tell some interesting stories that may tie into your blogs main focus.

3. Stay Objective - Often businesses will only post about themselves and their own happenings. Blogging about your business is by no means a bad thing. However, the content may get a little dry for your readers. many businesses who do this loose their readers because the readers become bored with the same content. Blog about others like you and your industry and return the post subject back to your business. Keep it interesting.

4. When in doubt use Spell Check - It looks so bad when there are a bunch of spelling and grammatical errors in your posts. Make sure before you publish, that you spell check your post and reread it at least twice to make sure that your post makes sense and sounds good.

5. Nurture your Readers - Show your readers that they are valued. Encourage your readers to come back and gain more by interacting with them. Encourage them to comment on your posts and when they comment thank them by commenting back.
